Notes:

- Extreme heat warning risks on elderly

- Dr. Longan - hospitalisation, emergency calls and death

- Climate change - heat waves, drought, bush fires

- Government - prepare for its impact

Summary:

In Australia, extreme  summer is a greater threat to the elderly people. According  to the climatic change journal during  the  period from  2006- 2017,  2% of  total death were attributed by heat.  Dr. Longan says due to extreme summer more hospitalisation, emergency calls and death can occur. Elderly people will face more health related issues.  Zail steggall claims, Australians are more worried about climate change which might cause extreme heat waves, drought and bushfires. They expect Morrison government to take appropriate steps to reduce its impact.

Personal reflection:

All over the world climate change has become a serious issue. The potential effects of climate change are extreme heat, drought, heat waves and bush fires. This affect people especially elderly. To reduce the global warming people should use less energy. Nations around the world should fight against climate change by reducing the usage of fuels that emit carbon dioxide. Australian government should take proper steps to reduce its impact.
